Q: What’s your family's worst food habit?
A: WE GO OUT TO EAT SO OFTEN!! We really do love healthy foods--especially veggies--but we've convinced ourselves that we don't have time to cook. We waste so much money and calories when we dine out. The year after my mom went through her divorce we spent $25,000 on restaurants alone! Eating out three times a day can really add up! And I know that I have gained 30 pounds my last year in college. The Freshman Fifteen? Try the Senior Thirty! It’s horrible. My mom and I are best friends with a lot of the same problems: we don’t eat right and we don’t cook at home. When you eat out, you have no control over what goes into your food and, subsequently, your body. She and I have started a great exercise plan, but we really need help with food. This mother-daughter-family wants to get control, and start eating natural foods!
Q: What one thing would you ask our nutritionist about eating natural foods?
A: Where can we buy reliably natural foods and incorporate them into easy recipes?
Q: What changes would your family hope to see by getting a natural makeover?
A: My mom and I want to lose weight and keep it off. We know that this only can be achieved if we learn healthy eating habits, shop for natural foods, and cook at home. We NEED this makeover to stimulate our self-esteem and make a PERMANENT change in our lifestyles. I was so excited when I read on the back of my Shredded Oats Cereal box that we might be able to meet Cheryl and continue towards our goal. I have always wanted to consult with a nutritionist.

Q: What’s your family's worst food habit?
A: Bread! We love rustic, artisanal breads -- rye, pumpernickel, multi-grain; loaves, boules, baugettes; hot buttered toast, French toast, grilled paninni, cold sandwiches, delicious chunks of bread dipped in olive oil, hard rolls served with salads -- even bread puddings with whiskey sauce, wonderful sourdough spread with unsalted butter and sprinkled with sea salt.... Unfortunately, the "staff of life" is quickly becoming our "lard (loaves) of death".
Q: What one thing would you ask our nutritionist about eating natural foods?
A: How do I choose natural foods wisely? I want to separate the over-packaged and advertised stuff from the quality foods which will truly benefit our family.
Q: What changes would your family hope to see by getting a natural makeover?
A: Much better balance in our choices -- trade loaves for fishes (or vegetables)!

Q: What’s your family's worst food habit?
A: Our worst food habit is going out to eat during the week too much. My husband and I get caught up in the workday and are just exhausted by dinner time. It's just too easy to go out and spend money on fattening foods. We would like to know quick, healthy weekday meals for the family. Maybe even cook-ahead meals so we can munch on left overs for those "gotta-eat-NOW" moments.
Q: What one thing would you ask our nutritionist about eating natural foods?
A: My 1 1/2 year old daughter LOVES beans, so much so, that she doesn't eat much of anything else. How can I get her to eat vegetables?
Q: What changes would your family hope to see by getting a natural makeover?
A: I would hope to see less processed foods and more organic food. We also have a HUGE sweet tooth, so some "healthy" treats would be great too!
